If you already have a spouse visa and are coming to the end of your first period of time (33 months), you need to apply to have your spouse visa extended for another 33 months.
You can apply up to 28 days before the expiry date of the current visa. If you apply after your current visa expires then you risk becoming an overstayer.
The income requirement for the Spouse Visa has increased to £29,000 since 11 April 2024. However, if you were already on the five-year partner route or applied for a fiancé visa or the civil partner route before this change, you will continue to be benefit from the previous £18,600 income requirement.
So basically if you are already on a spouse visa before the new rules came into effect, you still only need to show the £18,600 annual income for your spouse visa extension. The eligibility requirements for renewing your spouse visa are explained below
